Oct 28, 2008 Things went south about a year later, though Frederick (and possibly Otto) continued to build pianos. Seeing a growing market, Altenburg opened a retail store while continuing to manufacture pianos. Later they added other piano brands to their retail stock. As noted, production of their own instruments stopped in 1875. Everett pianos are known for their innovative qualities. Although Everett pianos have ceased production since 1989, the legacy of this great name remains stamped in the minds of piano enthusiasts and music aficionados. Yamaha G2 Baby Grand Piano, 5'6', Polished Ebony
This Yamaha was built in Japan. 'Nippon Gakki' is indicated, as is serial number 386496 which appears to equate to 1966. It's in really nice condition: it plays beautifully and looks very nice, in place. It was tuned a while ago and given a clean bill of health. The tuner (who also tunes for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra) suggested some hammer work (softening of the hammers), et al, if absolute optimal sound was desired. But nothing is required to play and enjoy (and show off!) this nice Yamaha: it's a fine choice for a home, church, college, or an intermediate piano student.
