Chiappa M1 22 Recall

They look very cool and would be a nice alternative to the Chiappa or re-stocked Ruger 10/22 for an M1 Carbine-ish plinker. 'A well-schooled electorate, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and read Books, shall not be infringed.' Chiappa 1911-22 Issues / Service For those of you who currently have a Chiappa 1911-22 or are considering a purchase, I thought I'd share the following experience (both bad and good). I will start by saying that other than having to file the front sight slightly to get it properly sighted in, my Chiappa had been humming right along for over. The Chiappa M1-22 carbine can mount the original fixed and folding stocks of the vintage M1, M1-A1 and M2 carbines Franco Palamaro The M1-22 represents Chiappa's homage to a great classic of the global arms industry and history. Here is the update to what is currently going on with my M1-22.

Chiappa M1 22 Recall 2017
They replaced the barrel liner with a new one featuring a proper fully supported chamber. Hopefully it will now shoot safely and reliably.
I do have a huge gripe- The factory defective chamber caused the cartridge detonation that destroyed one of my two factory magazines. I carefully detailed this in my letter in the box- with the destroyed mag and also in my email to Chiappa. Guess what, Chiappa chose to send me back my destroyed magazine and NO REPLACEMENT. I think this is pretty darned lame. They say by shooting it with the defective chamber, the damage is my fault!
Their dangerous, defective rifle design caused the damage. They never issued an official recall of the rifles. They never informed the dealers that were selling the early rifles of the defect. How the heck is the blown mag my fault when the only way I found out their was a defect is when the cartridge blew-up just like several hundred other early owners.
One thing for certain- I am never purchasing another Chiappa, Citadel or Legacy Sports product!
